Grilled Cajun Sirloin Steak
Cajun seasoning is one of my go-to pantry items. What better way to spice up the summer than with this Grilled Cajun Spiced Sirloin Steak recipe? Just imagine the flames, the smells, and the wonderful sizzle courtesy of the Kenmore 4-Burner Smart Gas Grill from Home Hardware.
Cook Time: 6 - 8 minutes
Serves: 3
Ingredients
3 1 ¼ inch Sirloin Steaks of choice
2 ½ tbsp Cajun Seasoning
2 tsp Black Garlic
1 ½ tbsp Honey
1 ½ tbsp Onion Powder
2 tbsp Rainbow Peppercorn, crushed
3 ½ tbsp Olive Oil
Kosher Salt, to taste
Black Pepper, to taste
Fresh Summer Garnish
6-8 Cherry Tomatoes, diced
1 Cucumber, diced
¼ cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
3 tbsp Balsamic Vinaigrette
2 tbsp Fresh Basil, chopped
Instructions
Preheat BBQ to 450°F.
Marinate the steaks with olive oil and spices.
Place each steak on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes with the BBQ lid closed.
Flip the steaks and cook for another 2- 3 minutes with the lid closed.
Check internal temp and remove the steaks from the grill at 120°F - 125 °F for medium rare steaks.
Transfer the steaks to a cutting board to rest, cover for 8 - 10 minutes before slicing.
Combine all ingredients for the garnish in a mixing bowl.
Place steaks on a serving platter and top with the fresh summer garnish.
Note: If you keep the marinated steaks in the refrigerator overnight, allow them to sit at room temperature for about 20 - 30 minutes before grilling. This allows the steaks to be grilled more evenly.
Remember that carryover cooking occurs after the steaks are removed from direct heat and the internal temp will still rise; therefore, cook according to your preference.
It’s important to have access to quality tools designed for grilling. I received the Grill Pro 4-piece stainless steel tool set from Home Hardware. It allows me to have a safer and more convenient grilling experience.
