Here's How to Update Your Bathroom
I think it’s a safe bet that there's at least one of us out there that’s eyeing up our home and dreaming all the big things for these rooms. But in order to do some of these things it takes money and a lot of work to do them. I’m here to tell you that sometimes little changes can make a big difference. All you need is some really awesome Beauti-Tone paint from Home Hardware and some small fixtures to freshen up any room in your home.
In my head, I sort of felt like we should just gut the whole room and start over. But not so much. Luckily, I found some really great supplies at Home Hardware where I could re-use our current vanity and just repaint it all to make it fresh as new.
Before
I’m going to share with you our step by step walkthrough on how we made this all happen…
First things first…
Beauti-Tone Countertop Refinishing Kit.
We found this really amazing countertop refinishing kit at Home Hardware. It’s simple and lovely. We went with the colour Sea Pearl.
First you sand down your surface and wipe it clean. Apply tape around the edges to protect the wall and lower cabinets.
Then add your first application of base coat.
Once you wait 30 minutes for that to dry, add the second coat of base.
Then mix up your colour really good. Start by applying a light coat. Wait for that to dry again for 30 minutes then you apply the second coat. Wait 24 hours for that to fully dry.
Next day lightly sand any grit with a neutral coloured sander if you’re going with the light Sea Pearl CounterTop paint.
Once that's all sanded and wiped clean you add your top clear coat! We then added our caulking around the sink and edges to protect it!

Wipe the vanity with mineral water to get rid of any residue like hairspray. Then, lightly sand down the surface and wipe it clean. Taking apart all hinges and taping the edges.
We added 1 cup of drywall compound to our full can of Beauti-Tone paint.
Mixing it really well we started to apply our first coat.
We added a few coats in between drying to make sure that there were no see through spots.
Once it was all dry, we lightly sanded it down just a touch and put our hinges back on. Then screwed on our new black door handles also found at Home Hardware.
Once the vanity was complete, we then added our beautiful quality vanity light, towel bar and ring and small pieces of decor all found at Home Hardware. I’m blown away by this transformation and already can't wait for the next.
Because again, small adjustments can really turn a drab looking room into something really beautiful. We loved everything we found at Home Hardware, they honestly helped us make these changes so easy. So easy that it doesn't scare us into starting a new project already!
