Mashed Red Potatoes

Who doesn’t love mashed potatoes? Some home chefs like to season them with fresh herbs and spices. Here’s your chance to add your own personal touch by roasting them to tender goodness over hickory wood pellets. 

Pellets: Traeger Hickory BBQ Wood Pellets 

Ingredients (Serves 4) 

  • 8 red potatoes (large) 

  • Salt 

  • Black pepper 

  • ½ cup heavy cream 

  • ¼ cup butter

Mashed Red Potatoes

Steps: 

  1. Set your Traeger Pellet BBQ to 80˚C / 180˚F and preheat for 15 minutes with the lid closed. 

  2. Cut your potatoes into medium-sized cubes and season with salt and pepper. 

  3. Increase the BBQ heat to high and preheat again. Once hot, place your potatoes directly on the grill grate. 

  4. Flip your potatoes every 15 minutes to get colour on all sides, continuing until they are fork tender. 

  5. Mash your potatoes with cream, salt, pepper and butter to taste. 

  6. Serve them up and enjoy!
