One Hole Faucets	Single-hole faucets integrate the lever and spout in one mounting hole. They’re easy to install.
Two Hole Faucets	Two-hole faucets offer additional flexibility. There’s the option to use one mounting hole for water control and the other for a soap dispenser or side sprayer.
Three Hole Faucets	Three-hole faucets often boast a classic two-handle design. But don’t fret if you prefer the single-handle look: a wide deck plate can cover the extra holes.
Four Hole Faucets	Four-hole faucets are prepped for extra features. Generally, the spout uses one hole and the hot and cold taps use two, leaving the fourth hole free for a side sprayer or soap dispenser.

• For the easiest installation, buy a faucet that matches the number of mounting holes in your sink and/or countertop.

• If the faucet requires more mounting holes than your sink/countertop has, you may be able to drill additional mounting holes into the sink/countertop.

• If the faucet uses fewer holes than your sink/countertop has, you may be able to cover extra mounting holes with a deck plate (included or sold separately).

• It’s not always possible to rescue a mounting hole mismatch. If in doubt, get professional advice about your installation before you start.

Do pull-down faucets break easily?

Like any faucet, pull-down models can suffer wear and tear over time. One problem unique to pull-down faucets is when the hose fails to retract. However, this is often an easy fix. Simply check under the sink to ensure the hose has not become snagged or tangled. The hose also has a weight attached to the other end which pulls it back when you let go. Make sure the weight hasn’t fallen off or become dislodged.

How high should a wall mount faucet be above the sink?

The ideal height for a wall mount kitchen faucet is 8-10 inches above the countertop. However, adjustments may be necessary to prevent splashing based on the shape and depth of your sink and the water pressure in your home.

Can you replace a 3-hole faucet with a single?

Yes, but you'll need to buy a single-handle faucet with a wide enough base to cover the other two unused holes. Most faucet bases will cover over unused holes that are four inches or less apart. If your existing faucet holes are further apart you can also find some single faucets with eight-inch baseplates. If you’re going from a 2-hole faucet to a single-handle model you might consider using the second hole for an additional feature like a soap dispenser.

How far should a soap dispenser be from a kitchen faucet?

The ideal distance is 7 to 8 inches away from your faucet. Before you drill the hole try positioning a disposable soap dispenser in different spots to find the location that works best.

You want to create a comfortable space to wash your hands without the dispenser getting in the way.
