A combo kit offers a great way to upgrade or augment your existing power tools. The most common combo kits include a drill driver and impact driver. A cordless drill is essential for any homeowner. The high RPM allows it to bore holes and tighten or loosen screws quickly, and you can take it almost anywhere. In contrast, an impact driver (sometimes called an impact drill) uses high torque, which allows it to easily drive long screws through tough material. The impact driver’s lower RPM also makes it less likely to strip screw heads. Some combo kits include a hammer drill, which looks similar to an impact driver, but it features massive impact power for driving through concrete and masonry.

Most combo kits include two lithium ion battery packs (one for each power tool). Some kits also include a battery charger and even an extra battery.
