Hosting a holiday party is fun but you want to make sure you’ve got everything you need in advance. Appetizers are great for casual drop-ins or to set the stage for the main meal. Lay out a cheese board or charcuterie board for your guests, and make sure you have plenty of serving dishes and serving platters on hand. Sharpen your kitchen knives ahead of time to ensure easy slicing and dicing. A cocktail shaker and corkscrew will get the Yuletide cheer flowing, but remember to make some non-alcohol options available too.
One-pot cooking can give you a good head start on your Christmas dinner. You’ll want a good roasting pan or baking dish for ham or turkey in the oven. A crock pot offers set-and-forget convenience for more Christmas food. For Christmas side dishes, use multi-size frying pans on your cooktop, and an air fryer or pressure cooker on your counter. A nice set of cutlery will enhance your Christmas table decorations, but make sure you’ve got enough matching sets for everyone. You might also want to make a couple of Christmas dessert options available to close out the meal. Have your cake pans and pie plates ready to pop in the oven as soon as the main course comes out.
