Now in its 25th year, the program identifies and promotes the next generation of aspiring independent home improvement and paint retailers and recognizes individual achievement by retailers age 35 and younger throughout Canada and the United States.
“It is truly an honour and a privilege to receive this award,” said Tyler Nowochin, Dealer-Owner, Nowco Home Hardware. “To be acknowledged with this caliber of talent from across North America is both humbling and incredible. This is truly a testament to the efforts of our dedicated team.”
Tyler Nowochin of Nowco Home Hardware was awarded Young Retailer of the Year for Annual Sales Under $2M. Honorees are chosen based on a number of criteria including professional milestones, community engagement, continuing hardware industry education and extracurricular activities.
Following in his family’s footsteps, Tyler is the third generation Nowochin to own and operate Nowco Home Hardware. He purchased the store in 2010 and led the company’s rebranding and remerchandising initiative. In 2017, Nowco Home Hardware underwent another renovation to make the front entrance wheelchair accessible. A year later, Tyler added a 1,200-square-foot DIY area for large events and projects.
The North America Hardware and Paint Association will be celebrating the 2021 Young Retailer of the Year honorees in a one-hour virtual event on May 5 at 2:00 p.m.
