André Neveu has deep roots in this community. He has spent the past 30 years building homes, barns, and other structures in the town, an hour north of Montreal. André’s father, Réjean Neveu, was mayor of Rawdon for almost a quarter century.
In fact, Mayor Neveu led the way in transforming Rawdon from a “canton” (a township in Quebec) to a municipality, in 1998. His son is continuing the family name in town as he transforms Rawdon in his own way.
Rawdon is in the Lanaudière region, an hour north of Montreal. The town has a resident population of 3,000 people. But that swells to 10,000 when the tourists come, attracted by ski hills, the mountains, the lakes, and the beauty.
