“Where the client needs the extra space, I can put an addition on—and then renovate the entire house so it looks like a new build. I’m a problem solver. I listen to their needs.”
Justin was born in Grimsby, Ont., and got his start in the industry taking a Construction Techniques program at Niagara College in Welland, Ont. There he helped build a Habitat for Humanity house that was donated to a needy family.
Justin first discovered that he liked building stuff earlier in life, while working on a dairy farm in St. Anns, Ont. “Working on a farm gave me a good work ethic,” he said. “When the cows need milking, they really need milking!”
When he graduated from trades school, Justin wanted to build homes, but he went to work for a commercial contractor in Welland to build up his skill set. They put him through his Red Seal apprenticeship in general carpentry. He really enjoyed working for this firm, who were building a lot of schools.
